日本もドラフト前夜にさしかかろうとしています。
日本時間昨夜から、ドラフト前日のMedia Dayだったりしたから、ドラフト候補生たちの露出も多くって、ついついツイッター見たりとか動画見たりとかしちゃうんだよっ(><)
んでもって肝心なとこ捗らないという…いつもどおりな…
では引き続き。

クリス・ダン。クリスくんだと誰だかわかんないし、ダンくんって言いづらいし、クリスダンくんってもっと言いづらいし、やっぱりクリスダンって呼ぶのが一番言いきって気持ちいい。
14-15、15-16シーズンと、お噂はカネガネって感じだったんですが、乙女視点的には全く興味がなく、プロビデンスの試合はもちろん、ハイライト動画すらロクに見たことないような気がします…
ところがここに来て、きっかけはNBA Rooksの動画だったんだけど、しゃべってるトコ見たら興味が湧いてきました。
他にもいくつかインタビュー動画を見たりして、気になる存在になってます。
たぶんね、今年のドラフト予習のため”だけ”に記事読んだ数は、クリスダンが一番多いんじゃないかな。前々からのお気に入りクンたちは通算ではたくさん記事読んでるんだけど。
いろいろ記事読んで知ったことをまとめておきます。予習っぽいっ。
9歳まではヴァージニア州で暮らしていました。小さい頃から、ママさんは刑務所に出たり入ったりを繰り返していたそうです。
2003年の夏もママさんは刑務所で、兄ちゃん(13歳)とクリスダン(9歳)の2人暮らし。
兄ちゃんはトリックダイス、クリスダンはOne-on-Oneで小銭を稼いだりもしていたとか。

その年、2人はパパさんに引き取られて、コネチカット州ニューロンドンへ。
パパさんが2人の居場所を見つけて家を訪れた時、クリスダンはその時はじめてパパさんに会ったそうです。

その後、本格的にバスケをはじめ、さまざまな大学からのオファーもあり。ESPNの2012年のリクルートランキングでは23位でした。
なんかAAUのチームではドラムンドとチームメイトだったらしいよ。

地元コネチカット州の有名校であるUconnからのオファーもあったんだけど、プロビデンス大へ進学することに。

大学に入って最初のシーズン（12-13）は、オフシーズンの肩の手術のために最初の9試合を欠場。
25試合のうち18試合はスターターとして出場したけど、ほぼSFみたいなポジションでプレーしてたみたいです。ケガからの回復過程だったこともあり、この年はあまりよい成績は残せず。
2年目（13-14）は、シーズン序盤のミニトーナメントで同じ肩を負傷して、シーズン残りは全休。プレーしたのは4試合のみ。
そのケガの翌週に、ママさんが亡くなったそうです。
In my whole life, and I’ve been through a lot, that’s the worst thing I’ve ever been through,” Kris said. “My mind was so out of whack. I had so much pain and aggression. I didn’t know how to explain it. I couldn’t deal with anyone at that point in time. I probably didn’t talk for two weeks. I needed to be alone. Then I let everyone come back in. I had a whole month to be with my family.

そして3年目(RS Sophomore)の14-15シーズン、ついにケガもなく健康な状態でシーズンスタート。
でも初戦はFG0-5、4TOで2得点だったとか。
“I missed five of the easiest layups in history,” Kris recalled. “No one contested them. I kid you not. I still have the film.”

シーズン中盤のゼイビア戦では20pts, 8ast, 10reb、その1週間後のデポール戦では、27pts, 13reb, 11astのトリプルダブルを達成。
たぶん、アタシが彼の名前を知ったのは、きっとこの辺りなんじゃないかと思う。
14-15シーズンが終わったころには、15ドラフトでロッタリー内の指名予想とかだった気がします。
でも、アーリーエントリーはせずカレッジに戻ることを選択。
その決断には、ファンやNBAのスカウトなどはもちろん、パパさんやプロビデンスのHCであるエド・クーリーさんも驚いたとか。
“I said, ‘Kris, if you were my son, I’d probably have you go to the NBA,'” Cooley said.

彼はなぜカレッジに戻ることにしたのか。
I know I could’ve had a good chance at being a lottery pick, but I didn’t know the game as well. I’m going to be going to the NBA, 21 years old, and really only played one year of college basketball. I have to not only work on my game, but off the court I’ve got to work on my maturity. For instance, say if I get picked to the Clippers right now. I’m talking to a dude like Paul Pierce? He don’t want to hear jokes. He’s got a family. He wants to worry about staying healthy. I want to learn how to be a professional. It’s almost strictly business there. I felt I needed to be a college player and a college person for one more year. Friends and family and fans, they only see the good on the court. I know, personally, the things I have to work on. I felt I need another year to develop those skills. I don’t want to go to the NBA and not be ready. There’s a lot of guys who go there, and their skills aren’t developed. Some players don’t like to admit it, but I can see my flaws.

開幕戦の32得点を皮切りに、シーズン序盤からニア・トリプルダブルを連発。12/2のハートフォード戦でトリプルダブル。同じような感じでシーズン序盤から、トリプルダブルを連発していたヴァレンタインくんとともに、すごく話題になってたよーな気がします。
んでもって満を持してアーリーエントリー、今に至るわけです。
