ドラフトまであと8時間くらいかな…
現地はドラフト当日を迎えています。
今年もさっぱりヤル気が出なかったりもお書かなくていいんじゃないかとか思ったり出かかったヤル気がしぼんだり紆余曲折を乗り越えてここまでたどり着きました。ぜぇぜぇ。
まぁこの調子だとあんまり書けませんね…
今年は20人の選手がグリーンルームに招待されたようです。
昨日はMedia Dayで写真撮影やらインタビューやら、候補生たちの姿を見ることができました。
すでに指名権の絡んだ大きなトレードはいくつか起きてます。現状でも上位指名権絡みの噂とか出てますねぇ。どうなることやら。

我がチームは手持ちの指名権でフツーに指名してくれればいいので、ホントよろしくお願いしますね（-人-）もちろんお気に入りクンが指名されたら嬉しいんだけど、そうじゃなくても存分に浮かれられそうな今年のドラフトです。
かなり出遅れたけど、でも予告通りに。

ジョシュ・ジャクソン (Josh Jackson) / Kansas
KUのジャージー、この真っ白なのが一番似合ってた気がします。
今年のドラフト、アタシにとってのドラフト1位はジョシュ・ジャクソンくんです。
毎試合見るのすごく楽しみだったし、見るたびにワクワクしたし、イマイチなところもダメなところもあったけど、 それでもホントすごいって思ってる。
そう考えると、今年のドラフト候補生でアタシが盲目的に恋してるのはジョシュジャクソンくんなのかもしれません。
乙女視点的な興味は薄いですが…
今季のKU、最終的には素晴らしく仕上がったんですが、シーズン途中くらいまでは何だか足りない感じがあって。かなりいい線いってるんだけど、なんだか少し隙間がある感じ。
7フッターのFreshman アズブキーくんがケガで離脱したり、Sophomoreのカールトンくんがいろいろあったりで、実際に人手が不足してるとこもありました。その隙間を埋めてくれたのがジョシュジャクソンくんだったと思っています。
何でもできるんだなっていうのはシーズン早い段階で思ったんですけど、何でも出来るだけではなく、フィット感がどんどん高まってく。
「隙間をピッタリと埋めてくれる」それがアタシにとってのジョシュジャクソンくんの一番すごいところです。
だから、トーナメントElite 8のオレゴン戦、序盤にジョシュジャクソンくんが2つ目のファウルをコールされた瞬間、これ1番ダメなやつだ😱って思ったの。たぶんアタシだけではなかったハズ。
出会いはたぶん2014年夏のElite 24。この年のMVPのひとりです。
ベテラン顔認定したのはその翌年、2015年夏のElite 24でした。
この2015年のElite 24では、ダンクコンテストで優勝。そして2年連続のMVP。
2013年のU16アメリカ選手権、2014年のU17世界選手権（日本と対戦してましたね） 、2015年のU19世界選手権で優勝、2016年のMcDonald’s All American GameではMVP、Jordan Brand Classicは辞退してたけど、Nike Hoop Summitにでも出てたし、目にする機会はずいぶんありました。
でもぜんっぜん興味なくって、ちょこっとはハイライト動画見たことあったと思うけど、それくらいだったなぁ。
KUは進学先の候補に入ってたけど、MSU行くだろうってアタシは思ってた…いや勝手に信じてた…っていうか少なくともKUはないだろうって思ってたよね…だから、KUに決まったときにはスゴくビックリしたし。（ちまたの予想ではKUだろうっていわれてたんだけど）
今年のNCAAトーナメントでKUとMSUが対戦した時のインタビューで、MSUのHCイゾーさんはリクルートについて、ジョシュジャクソンくんはMSUについて話してました。
“I just got on my hands and knees and begged him. That’s what I did, and that wasn’t as good as Bill’s,” Izzo said Saturday at BOK Center,
“Was it sad and disappointing?” Izzo asked of losing Detroit native Jackson to KU coach Bill Self. “It was because I think it was a close fight to the finish. But I talked to Josh after it. Unlike some guys, he had the courage and respect to call me. A lot of kids don’t do that. I’ll always be a Josh Jackson fan — except for tomorrow night for 40 minutes.”
I was starstruck a little bit, growing up a Michigan State fan. I have a lot of respect for him,” Jackson said. “I loved watching college basketball as a kid especially around March. Michigan State … out of all the times I watched them, I always felt they had a really tough team. I’ve seen them win, lose games, but I’ve never seen them out-toughed by another team. I liked that. I definitely could see myself going there.”

いくつか記事を読んだところによると、進学先をKUに決めたのはママさんの意向も強かったような感じもします。ちなみにママさんもカレッジバスケの選手だったようで、UTEPでプレーしてたそうです。
“(Kansas) had the plan and roadmap and they laid it out for me,” Jones told the site. “I could see the future they had planned for Josh from his freshman year to his senior year. I could also see that they cared about him more as a person than as a basketball player.

と、KUに来ることが決まったものの、やっぱりあんまり興味は沸かず、ようやく親しみ湧いてきたのは、シーズンが始まってからでした。
親しみが湧いてから、ハートを掴まれるのは早かったと思います。
アタシがなんとなくKUを追いはじめてから、リクルートランキング上位で入ってきたone-and-doneのコたちってけっこういるんですが。カッコ内は当時のESPNのリクルート ランキング。2009年 ザビエイ・ヘンリー（3位） 、2010年 ジョシュ・セルビー（5位） 、2013年のウィギンス（1位）とエンビーくん（6位）、
2014年のアレギザンダーくん（3位）とウーブレくん（11位）、2015年のディアロくん（7位）、そして2016年のジョシュジャクソンくん（2位）。
意外と苦戦したコが多いというか、まぁプレータイムを充分にもらえなかったりしてるんですが。バスケのことはよくわかんないですけど、KUってone-and-doneのコには向いてないとこだよなって思ってます。
ウィギンスの時はチーム事情がだいぶちがったんで、ジョシュジャクソンくんが最初から当たり前みたいに馴染んでることにスゴく驚きました。

Before Diallo, there was Cliff Alexander and Kelly Oubre. Alexander struggled to find consistent minutes before his season ended prematurely because of NCAA trouble. Oubre rode the pine at the start of his one season at Kansas before eventually working his way into a starting role.

そうそうアタシこの時「派手さはない」って書いてるけど、ジョシュジャクソンくんのハイライト動画見ると、ド派手なんですよね。ダンク多いし。ハイライト動画で見ても確かにスゴいんだけど、ホントにスゴいのはそこじゃないって見るたびに思ってます。
完成してる感じは全くない。そこが一番ワクワクさせられたところだったと思います。いろいろとしっかり仕込んだらどんなことが出来るようになんだろうって、ホント夢が膨らみますよね。何ひとつ完成してる感じはしない故、そう、しっかり仕込んでくれるチームに行けるといいなと。
ジョシュジャクソンくんのことを評する記事などで「versatile」という言葉を良く見ます。多才とか色々な用途に使えるとかそんな意味ですかね。
KUのACである Kurtis Townsendさんのこの言葉が、ジョシュジャクソンくんのことをよく表してると思います。
“When you get a guy like Josh, and he can be like a queen on the chessboard, where you can move him all over and he could do anything, it makes it a lot easier,”

ジョシュジャクソンくんのプレーですごく印象的だったことの1つは、コートビジョンの良さとパスのスキルの高さ。

ジョシュジャクソンくん、1年しかいないであろうことはわかっていたので、それなりの心づもりて見ていたんですが、1つだけ残念だったのは、アズブキーくんとジョシュジャクソンくん一緒にプレーするとこもっと見たかったなってこと。

KU時代、トラッシュトークについて言及されてるのは見たことないんですが、シーズン序盤はテクニカルファウルとられてベンチに座らされてることが何度かありました。
We saw Jackson’s emotions on display several times during the basketball season. He paid for it with extended time on the bench. I thought Bill Self and the Kansas basketball staff did an outstanding job helping him learn to control himself during games.

そんなこともあって、ジョシュジャクソンくんの感情のコントロールについて指摘されることが、特にシーズン序盤にあった気がします。
昨季中に起こした事件も、けっきょくそこら辺の問題なのかなと。
事件の詳細はリンク先を見てください。ざっくりいうと、大学のあるローレンスの飲食店で、チームメイト（先輩）のヴィックくんの元ガールフレンドが、ヴィックくんに飲み物を投げつけて、それに怒ったジョシュジャクソンくんがヴィックくんの元ガールフレンドの車を殴ったんだか蹴ったんだかして壊したということかと。

この件で、ジョシュジャクソンくんはアンガーマネージメント・コースを受けることになって、そこで学んだことについてレイカーズのワークアウトの時にインタビューで話していたようです。

そう、ベテラン顔ベテラン顔って言ってきましたが、ベテランなのは見た目とバスケのプレーだけで、実際はむしろ幼い感じがします。しゃべってる感じとか立ち居振る舞いとか。
ジョシュジャクソンくん趣味はサックスとチェスだそうです。ここはベテラン風味だったわ…学校でチェスクラブに所属したりもしてたとか。
“I’m pretty good, I’ve been playing the saxophone since I was in the seventh grade,” Jackson said.

It was his dad, though, who taught him how to play chess.
“I was in about the third grade,” Jackson says. “At school, nobody ever wanted to play. Nobody knew how. I wanted to know. My dad started to teach me on a chessboard we had at home. I went back to school and started playing and showing my friends how to play.
